Tired Of Your Smile? 3 Ways To Get Gleaming Teeth

Posted on

If the appearance of your teeth makes you self-conscious, whether they are discolored, broken, or crooked, there are plenty of methods available to help. Dentistry has become so innovative with the different forms of technology used to improve teeth that there is bound to be a solution you can be happy with. There are few teeth issues that cannot be repaired. Here are some options to consider:

Teeth Bleaching

If your primary issue is the color of your teeth, chances are a little teeth bleaching is all you need. Teeth bleaching can be as inexpensive as a store bought product to use at home to more costly professional bleaching at the dental office. If your teeth are very stained, it will be best to have a professional bleaching done, as it is better equipped to penetrate the teeth and whiten from the inside out.

Bonding

If you have broken or chipped teeth, you have the option of dental bonding. Dental bonding used tooth-colored resin to the teeth that will fill in any broken areas and hide any flaws. The dentist will use the shade closest to your teeth so that it is virtually unnoticeable. The resin will be applied to the teeth and shaped so that it both fits properly and looks like a natural tooth. Ultraviolet light is used to set the resin so that it will fully harden. After this process, the dentist will then polish the new tooth to smooth the surface and finalize the shaping. This is a very easy process that takes less than an hour for a few teeth. It is also not as costly as other tooth repair solutions. However, it may not be the best option if your broken tooth has decay or is broken too close to the gum line.

Porcelain Veneers

A more invasive tooth repair option that will last for at least a decade are porcelain veneers. Veneers use very thin layers of porcelain that are made specifically for your teeth. They are made in a lab based on molds taken from your current teeth. Once they are ready, the veneers will be adhered to your teeth. Once they are adhered, you will have to do nothing more for years to come. The teeth will remain strong and will never discolor because stains cannot penetrate the porcelain. You will be given a tooth guard to sleep in at night to protect your teeth if you are one to grind your teeth at night.
